About The Position

This is a temporary, onsite project for a Full Stack Developer in Tallahassee, FL, with an estimated duration of 12 months and possible extensions. The role requires 100% of the time to be spent at the client's site, with no telecommuting or remote work. Candidates must be able to relocate as required. The position involves performing technology and architecture upgrades to ensure application stability, providing maintenance, enhancement, and support for business applications, and assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications. The developer will also be responsible for writing, translating, and coding software programs, developing and maintaining user manuals, and collaborating with other IT professionals to resolve software issues. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior programmers.

Requirements

  • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL.
  • Experience with MS Visual Studio, focusing on VB.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET Core. (10+ years)
  • Experience with MS SQL Server databases, T/SQL, database IDE’s and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), with the capability to perform tuning, develop complex queries and database objects, including both DML and DDL (4+ years).
  • Experience developing applications leveraging the React Javascript (library) framework (4+ years).
  • Experience operating as a Full-stack developer (4+ years).
  • Experience working in Cloud Server environments, preferably Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with architectural design patterns, such as MVC.
  • Experience with relational and object-oriented database designs.
  • Experience with database security, including role-based security.
  • Experience with Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C# and VB.NET.
  • Experience using code repositories, preferably Git.
  • Experience in web development leveraging XML and CSS.
  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Experience with environmental regulatory business processes and practices.
  • Experience with Agile development, specifically Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) and Kanban.
  • MS certification(s), preferably MCSD or MCTS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technology and architecture upgrades (modernization) to ensure the stability of applications in the DEP portfolio.
  • Provide maintenance, enhancement and support for a variety of the agency’s business applications.
  • Assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
  • Writing, translating and coding software programs and applications per specifications.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
  • Working with network administrators, systems analysts and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to junior programmers.
