About The Position

ASM is seeking a Full Stack Developer to design and build complex applications for federal government clients. The role works with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions using agile practices, and contributes across application design, implementation, infrastructure, documentation, testing, and ongoing support. The developer is expected to apply software design and coding best practices and support program requirements, metrics, analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
5–10 years of experience with programming or web development activities.
Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, front-end frameworks such as Angular and React, and Node.js back-end application frameworks.
Experience with web services, including SOAP, RESTful services, XML, and JSON.
Understanding of NoSQL databases.
Thorough understanding of object-oriented analysis and design principles and DevOps culture.
Knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, system development life cycle, and project management frameworks.
Exposure to and familiarity with various industries and specific operational solutions and tools.
Demonstrable experience with tools such as GitHub, Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory, and SonarQube.
Experience designing solutions using one or more Amazon Web Services.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the past 5 years.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AWS DynamoDB.
Knowledge of AWS SDKs.
2+ years of experience with React and/or Express.js.
Experience with the Jest testing framework and MSW API mocking.
Experience with the AWS SDK for JavaScript.
Experience with Spring Boot and Java.
Experience with CMS Marketplace eligibility and appeal processing.
Experience or knowledge of CMS processes, standards, and Design System.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions using agile development principles and practices.
Design and develop applications with a focus on simplicity, reliability, manageability, scalability, extensibility, performance, and reuse.
Establish and follow software coding best practices and style guides, and participate in code reviews.
Participate in sprint planning, assign story points, and commit to user stories for weekly sprints.
Troubleshoot problems with existing applications.
Design, build, maintain, monitor, and test infrastructure.
Design and develop a modern, responsive web-based user interface for a microservices-based web application.
Use current tools and techniques in web UI/UX development.
Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, specifications, and diagrams.
Support development of technical documentation, program-level and user-level documentation, training manuals, and operational and system-level documentation.
Support IT program requirements and metrics development, definition, data quality assessment, and strategic analysis.
Collect and analyze data to produce forecasts, assessments, recommendations, and reports.
Contribute to project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing application support.
Implement solutions in conformance with architectural and business requirements.
Identify reusable functionality and implement it as reusable components.
