About The Position

Mind Computing is seeking a fulltime, 100% remote Full Stack Developer to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing modern, cloud native applications across both front-end and back-end technologies. This role requires expertise in Java, Node.js/TypeScript, React, and cloud-based architectures, with experience designing scalable applications, integrating AI/LLM capabilities, and delivering secure, reliable solutions in regulated environments. The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant experience as a Full Stack Developer.
Strong experience with front-end frameworks such as ReactJS and/or Angular.
Hands-on experience with backend development using Java, Spring, Node.js/TypeScript, or Python frameworks.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
Experience integrating AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI APIs, into production systems.
Experience with AWS cloud-native services such as Aurora, ECS, SQS, S3, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Experience designing AI-enabled, data-intensive, or highly scalable systems.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7.
Experience working with AI/ML platforms, enterprise AI solutions, or generative AI technologies.
Ability to obtain government clearance.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using technologies such as Java, Java EE, Java 17, Spring, Node.js/TypeScript, React, Angular, Python, Django, Flask, and FastAPI.
Develop responsive user interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
Build and maintain server-side applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
Design and implement data solutions using relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
Develop event-driven architectures and cloud-native applications to support enterprise-scale systems.
Integrate AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities using platforms and APIs such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Claude.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend tools, frameworks, and architectures to improve application capabilities.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining high-quality coding standards.
Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, technical design discussions, development, testing, and deployments.
Develop automated tests and support quality assurance efforts using tools such as Cypress and Playwright.
Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities while following secure software development practices.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
