About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Full Stack Developer (Java/Python) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution. This role requires a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with strong experience in Java and/or Python and expertise in event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable applications, working across both frontend and backend layers to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in software development
Strong experience in Java and/or Python backend development
Strong experience in Apache Kafka / messaging systems
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of distributed systems & microservices architecture
Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
Proficiency with Git, version control
Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications (frontend + backend)
Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
Develop and maintain event-driven systems using Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams)
Work with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability
Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps processes
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers
Perform code reviews, testing (unit/integration), and debugging
Ensure security best practices and compliance standards
