About The Position

brightfin provides clients with a suite of IT financial management and managed software subscriptions to enable your organization to rationalize, comprehend, normalize, optimize, and allocate spend to clearly show IT’s value in delivering revenue, services, and organizational enablement for the enterprise. The role involves owning features end-to-end, from data model to UI, across their ServiceNow-native platform and decoupled services. The developer will pair daily with AI agents to design, build, test, and ship, setting the bar for AI-driven development at Brightfin. This includes orchestrating AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and Codex to ship faster than a traditional team, writing prompts, reviewing output, and owning the result. Production code will be in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, React, and Python, with ServiceNow scoped apps for integration. Tests are non-negotiable, and the developer will be responsible for ensuring they effectively catch issues. The role also involves identifying and documenting workflows that save the team time, and sharing this knowledge publicly.

Requirements

Experience shipping production software across the stack.
Strong judgment and sense of urgency.
Strong TypeScript/JavaScript and modern React.
Comfort in Python or another backend language.
Fluent AI-assisted workflow: Already use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) as a primary part of how you build.
Ability to describe specifically how AI changed the way you ship.
Systems thinking: Design before you code.
Ability to defend a tradeoff in plain language to a non-engineer.

Nice To Haves

ServiceNow platform experience (scoped apps, GlideRecord, REST integrations, Now Experience UI Framework).
Experience building or extending AI agents (LangGraph, AutoGen, custom orchestration, or MCP servers).
Background in data-heavy SaaS (analytics, finance, telecom, or cloud cost management).
Experience shipping in a PE-backed growth company.

Responsibilities

Features end-to-end: Schema, API, UI, tests, observability.
AI-driven development: Orchestrate AI agents (Claude, Cursor, Codex, internal agents) to ship faster.
Write prompts, review AI output, and own the result.
Write production code in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, React, and Python.
Develop ServiceNow scoped apps for integration.
Ensure tests are written and effectively catch issues.
Identify, document, and teach new workflows that improve team efficiency.
