About The Position

This position exists to coach, mentor, and develop Distributor Sales Consultants (DSCs) to deliver on divisional goals and objectives and contribute to achieving day-to-day objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, in business preferred.
  • One year of experience supervising sales or operations employees.
  • Four Years direct Sales Experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively without close supervision.
  • Consultative selling and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to travel, Overnights and Weekends Required.
  • A reliable means of transportation sufficient to visit client locations and carry large quantities of product.
  • Provide personal vehicle liability coverage sufficient to meet corporate minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Establish sales and promotion goals for the Distributor Sales Consultants and communicate those goals.
  • Plan and conduct sales meetings, including logistics, participants, presenters, and content.
  • Identify potential key accounts and implement a plan to develop them.
  • Maintain productive relationships with manufacturers.
  • Schedule manufacturer's reps, technicians, and educators for meetings, education programs, detailing, or business development meetings.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to DSCs in executing their responsibilities, including developing new business, sales skills, increasing sales, and client support.
  • Travel with DSCs (3-4 days per week) to assess customer relationships, evaluate selling skills, and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Communicate closely with and provide oversight to DSCs to ensure regular client contact.
  • Visit or communicate by phone with customers to assess service levels and identify problems requiring management involvement.
  • Ensure education events achieve maximum participation through ticket sales and promotion.
  • Schedule adequate manufacturer education events and support for salons and DSCs.
  • Maintain regular and prompt communication with supervisors and the Company by attending meetings, responding to communications, and alerting them to important business information.
  • Monitor and analyze employee performance to ensure desired results are achieved consistent with policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, reinforce good performance, address unsatisfactory performance, develop employees, use the corrective action process, and terminate employees when necessary.
  • Resolve problems between and among DSCs, stores, and manufacturers.
  • Manage territories by re-assigning accounts to DSCs and reshaping geographic coverage.
  • Complete periodic sales, activity, and status reports.
