About The Position

The YMCA at Brentwood is hiring a Full Circle Swim Instructor. This role involves creating safe, fun, and engaging swim experiences for participants while helping them grow in confidence and skill. Responsibilities include teaching swim lessons with enthusiasm, ensuring safety by following all policies, providing personalized feedback and encouragement, building relationships with participants and families, and maintaining equipment and documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 16
• Ability to swim at an intermediate level (check out our Prerequisite Skills Evaluation)
• Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
• CPR Pro/AED/First Aid within 30 days of hire
• Angel Fish Training within 2 weeks of hire

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons with enthusiasm, from in the water, using creative and organized lesson plans.
• Ensure safety is the top priority by following all pool and YMCA policies.
• Provide personalized feedback and encouragement to swimmers and communicate progress with parents.
• Build strong relationships with participants and their families, creating a welcoming environment.
• Maintain and organize equipment, complete required documentation, and actively engage in team training sessions.
