The Fuels Distribution System Operator is responsible to the Fuels Management Team (FMT) and the Project Manager for the satisfactory accomplishment of all assigned tasks, including accountability, security, safety, and task performance within their designated area of responsibility. This role involves performing duties within Fuels Operations under the section lead’s direction, which includes issuing, receiving, storing, quality checking, and dispensing various fuels and fluids such as aviation fuel, de-icing fluid, gasoline, compressed natural gas, heating oil, and diesel fuel using a variety of fixed facilities and mobile fuel handling equipment. The position requires providing fuel support for 24-hour, 7-day operations at Columbus AFB, MS, and maintaining a hazardous waste management program. The operator must be able to perform all essential tasks related to directives in Contractual Performance Work Statements, inspect, operate, and maintain a complete fuels distribution system(s), and initiate emergency procedures as necessary. Additionally, the role involves performing preventive maintenance, maintaining inspection and maintenance records, and performing quality control of cryogenic products, while maintaining constant surveillance over all fuels, equipment, and systems to ensure adherence to quality assurance standards. Other duties may be assigned, including changing tires, dispatching refueling units, and hose pulling.
