About The Position

The Fueling Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety and compliance of fueling handling operations on a day-to-day basis. This role involves supervising fueling handling staff, implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies. The Fueling Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment and reducing the risk of incidents related to fueling handling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fueling handling or safety supervision, with a strong understanding of safety regulations and practices.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, fueling handling procedures, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and training effectively.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct fueling handling staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, addressing any safety-related concerns or issues.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team to discuss safety practices, incidents, and improvements.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and policies related to fueling handling operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
  • Monitor and ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and used.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for new and existing staff, covering topics such as safe fueling handling, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to enhance safety awareness.
  • Perform regular inspections of fueling handling processes and equipment to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Document inspection findings and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
  • Respond to and investigate safety incidents and accidents, including fueling damage and loss.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, including root cause analysis and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards in fueling handling operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and improve overall safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and incidents to the Fueling Safety Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among fueling handling staff.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and safety.
