About The Position

The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Design Engineers own the full development lifecycle, from concept generation, to integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex, contested environments. This role involves designing and developing aircraft fuel systems supporting multiple air vehicle programs from concept through testing and qualification. It includes detailed design of fuel system components, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and supporting the entire development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience designing aircraft fuel systems or closely related aerospace fluid systems
  • Experience supporting the product lifecycle from concept through testing and qualification
  • Experience with Siemens NX or comparable CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks)
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and mechanical design fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with suppliers, component selection, or prototype development
  • Experience with one-dimensional fluid analysis tools such as AMESIM, Flowmaster, Easy5, or similar software
  • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop aircraft fuel systems supporting multiple air vehicle programs from concept through testing and qualification
  • Perform detailed design of fuel system components including tubing, pumps, filtration, gauging, venting, and refueling/defueling systems
  • Partner with software engineering, systems, testing, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate fuel system hardware
  • Support component selection, prototype builds, qualification, testing, and system integration throughout the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and fuel systems architects while gradually taking ownership of increasingly complex fuel system designs
