About The Position

WEIS is looking for a Fuel Sales Associate who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role involves assisting customers with fuel transactions, operating the cash register, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The associate will also be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by providing polite and professional service, staying informed about specials, and resolving concerns promptly.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

Assists customers with pay-at-the-pump transactions and may help fill vehicles with fuel.
Operates cash register and performs checkout procedures, including providing receipts and bagging merchandise.
Maintains receipt tapes in dispensers.
Responsible for inventory of fuel, vehicle accessories, and other products.
Manages all funds collected, including cash, checks, debit, and credit slips, adhering to security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures.
May interact with the gas station POS vendor to resolve issues with POS systems, dispensers, and tank monitoring systems.
Helps set up displays or promotional materials.
Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns politely and professionally.
Follows company policies for customer checkouts to increase customer satisfaction.
Stays informed about weekly ads or specials to answer customer questions and ensure accuracy in ringing up merchandise.
May distribute special customer coupons.
Responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines for work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases.
Ensures work areas meet health and OSHA requirements and disposes of trash properly.
Remains alert to safety issues, particularly slip and fall hazards at fuel pumps and dangers around combustibles.
Ensures smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
Continuously improves job performance.
Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
Performs other staff duties as required and may assist in other departments.
