About The Position

WEIS is looking for a Fuel Sales Associate who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role involves assisting customers with fuel transactions, operating the cash register, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The associate will also be responsible for customer service, including answering questions and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. This position requires adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and the use of provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

  • Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • No prior experience required.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists customers with pay-at-the-pump transactions and may help fill vehicles with fuel.
  • Operates cash register and performs check out procedures, providing receipts and bagging merchandise.
  • Maintains inventory of fuel, vehicle accessories, and other products.
  • Responsible for all funds collected, including cash, checks, debit, and credit slips, and maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting.
  • May interact with the gas station POS vendor to correct problems with the POS system, dispensers, and tank monitoring system.
  • Helps set up displays or promotional materials.
  • Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves customer concerns politely and professionally.
  • Follows company policies relating to customer check out to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Keeps informed of weekly ads or specials to answer customer questions and ensure accuracy in ringing up merchandise.
  • May distribute special customer coupons.
  • Responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
  • Ensures work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well-maintained, clean, and meet health and OSHA requirements.
  • Disposes of trash properly.
  • Remains alert to safety issues around the station, paying attention to slip and fall hazards and dangers of working around combustibles.
  • Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Continuously improves job performance.
  • Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other staff duties as required and may assist in other departments.
