About The Position

AFD Petroleum Ltd. is seeking to hire 4 Permanent, Full-time Fuel Oil Truck Drivers in Edmonton, AB. The role involves operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, with a focus on fuel oil. Drivers will be responsible for planning routes, loading and unloading goods, performing vehicle inspections and maintenance, and ensuring the safe transport of dangerous goods. This position requires frequent or constant travel, including long-haul and short-haul, and may involve various work locations and times, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
1 year to less than 2 years of experience
Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
Driver logbook
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Tractor-trailer B train experience
Long-haul and Short-haul transportation/travel experience
Basic security clearance
Driver's validity license check
Driving record check (abstract)
Ability to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Address customers' complaints or concerns
Mountain driving expertise
Load and unload goods
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Perform preventive maintenance
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Transport and handle dangerous goods
