About The Position

Deliver heating oil or propane to customers following an established route and driving a CDL/Hazmat vehicle. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Fuel Oil Drivers position requires an individual to be outdoors in all weather conditions. Drivers that are on-call are required to make deliveries during non-business hours. No smoking in company buildings or on customer property.

Requirements

  • Operate tanker truck, truck delivery meters, and other equipment including hand tools.
  • Use GPS, meter tickets and delivery equipment required for the safe delivery of products.
  • Observe all company rules including safe driving, product safety and maintain superior customer relations.
  • Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business needs and changes.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and write the English language
  • High School Graduate or comparable
  • Demonstrated proficiency at driving a CDL vehicle
  • Person must have a valid PA driver’s license and clear driving record
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with a HazMat certificate, tanker and airbrake exemptions
  • Be available to work rotating on-call shift and be able to drive at any hour of the day
  • Drivers are required to pull and/or lift hose to reach customers fill inlet. Approx weight of hose is xxx
  • Able to climb in and out of truck cab-up to 25 times per shift
  • Some bending is required to make connections- up to 25 times per shift
  • Safety Sensitive position due to driving hazardous materials

Responsibilities

  • Work from daily schedule, verbal instructions and maintain excellent driving skills to deliver heating oil, diesel fuel or kerosene in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Receive daily route from dispatcher, load product at the fueling rack.
  • Operate vehicle on local routes to minimize road time and enhance customer service.
  • During busy periods, be available to cover rotating on-call shift and be available to work overtime if needed.
  • Maintain proper and presentable vehicles.
  • Perform pre & Post trip vehicle inspection as required by the Department of Transportation.
  • Use computer terminal to record daily deliveries.
  • Complete or assist with any and all company duties as requested
  • During busy periods, 40 hours plus overtime as needed.
  • Hours worked per day vary based on daily workload.
