About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Technician supports individual Unattended fueling locations by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance services pertaining to malfunctioning and broken fueling equipment. Pay rate: $23/hr

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or previous experience

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and manages daily maintenance and repair activities to minimize operational downtime at unattended cardlock fueling sites by responding to work orders issued via email, text, phone, and the automated dispatch/CMMS system.
  • Maintains a safe, compliant, and well‑organized work environment by following all company procedures as well as OSHA, EPA/DEQ, and petroleum handling regulations.
  • Performs diagnostics, repair, and calibration of fueling system components , including dispensers, submersible turbine pumps (STPs), electronic line leak detectors, tank probes, sensors, and site communications equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, programs, and services Automated Tank Gauge (ATG) systems , including Veeder‑Root TLS consoles or equivalent, EVO, Skybitz, ANOVA, ensuring accurate inventory reconciliation, alarm handling, compliance reporting, and sensor calibration.
  • Supports and troubleshoots Point‑of‑Sale (POS) and fueling control systems , including Gasboy, Wayne, Smart Site, PetroVend, and related site controllers used at unattended cardlock environments.
  • Diagnoses communication failures, configuration issues, authorization problems, and network connectivity errors.
  • Inspects and repairs fuel dispensers and electronic components , including Wayne and Gasboy dispenser platforms, card readers, PEDs, pulser assemblies, hydraulic components, meters, hoses, nozzles, displays, and forecourt wiring.
  • Documents and closes service events in the dispatch/maintenance software, providing detailed descriptions of issues diagnosed, corrective actions performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Repairs or replaces defective components using inventory maintained on the service vehicle. Sources additional materials and parts through the company warehouse and approved local suppliers when items are not available in‑vehicle inventory.
  • Communicates promptly with the Maintenance Dispatcher and Supervisor for issues requiring specialized contractors, recurring failures, warranty claims, or parts.
  • Provides expert troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and communication‑related failures.
  • Communicates estimated repair timelines to internal stakeholders and consults with supervisors on major or capital‑level repair needs.
  • Conducts follow‑up verification to ensure repaired systems and components remain fully operational after corrective or preventive maintenance.
  • Responds to after‑hours emergency service calls using a company‑issued cell phone, meeting required dispatch response timeframes for critical cardlock site outages.
  • Prepares detailed work order documentation for every service call, ensuring accuracy in diagnostics, labor, materials, and recommended corrective actions to support compliance and asset reliability.
  • Ensures repairs are completed efficiently and to industry standards by correctly defining problems, writing clear scopes of work, evaluating contractor/vendor bids when needed, and implementing approved solutions.
