About The Position

Alaska Petroleum Distributing (APD) has served the North Pole and surrounding areas since 1981. With strong local brand recognition and family-owned company culture, APD has a balanced commercial and retail customer portfolio, delivering heating oil, gasoline, and diesel fuels. It is the largest fuel distributor in the interior. Recognizing its complementary services, including linehaul and truck maintenance capabilities, APD joined the NorthStar family of companies in 2019. APD prioritizes environmental safety, crafting and constructing the first state-approved, double-walled fuel storage tanks. Alaska Petroleum has over 100 tanks of various sizes, which is an offered service to contractors throughout the state. In addition, APD handles oil spill contingency products, including pads and barrels.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pull a pup trailer with 5 years of experience.
  • Valid Class B or A CDL with X endorsement
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of commercial driving experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • If CDL with all endorsements was recently obtained, the company is willing to provide entry-level driver training experience.
  • TWIC, Hazmat, Hazwoper can be acquired after hire.
  • Forklift Certificate can be acquired after hire

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide safe fueling services for vessels, ensuring proper fueling protocols are followed.
  • Prepare and deliver packaged products and oil lubes to customers, completing purchase order requests accurately.
  • Deploy boom as necessary and maintain a clean and organized dock and yard.
  • Complete meter sheets, invoices, and maintain timely submission to the office.
  • Inspect hoses and equipment daily for damage, ensuring equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Safely deliver fuel to home heating customers, commercial customers, and other locations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Complete invoices accurately and submit them to the office on a daily basis.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or concerns to supervisors to ensure safe delivery operations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking vehicle components and fluids.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of trucks and facilities by performing necessary cleaning tasks.
  • Assist with various tasks related to inventory, warehouse assistance, and ground maintenance.
  • Participate in safety meetings, promptly report injuries, spills, and property damage, and identify and communicate potential job hazards.
