About The Position

The Fuel Desk Cashier / Porter plays an essential role in delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming travel plaza. This position combines cashier responsibilities with porter duties to ensure both our guests and team members enjoy a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment. Ideal candidates are friendly, dependable, self-motivated, and take pride in keeping the store looking its best.

Requirements

  • Provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work effectively with the public and as part of a team.
  • Take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning for extended periods.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to company procedures.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a smile, provide friendly service, and offer prompt assistance.
  • Practice suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience.
  • Adhere to all city, county, state, and federal alcohol and tobacco regulations.
  • Efficiently operate the cash register while accurately processing cash, credit card, and other transactions.
  • Operate the lottery/lotto terminal.
  • Follow all company cash handling and operating procedures.
  • Stock merchandise, coolers, and displays throughout the store.
  • Change fountain drink syrup boxes as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and pricing.
  • Clean and sanitize guest restrooms throughout the day.
  • Clean and maintain guest shower facilities, ensuring they are sanitized, stocked, and guest-ready.
  • Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and perform general housekeeping throughout the store.
  • Clean windows, entrance doors, cooler doors, counters, shelving, and other high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers inside the store and throughout the parking lot.
  • Monitor and replenish restroom, shower, and cleaning supplies.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized sales floor, fuel desk, and common areas.
  • Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and deep cleaning assignments.
  • Promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
