About The Position
The Fuel Desk Cashier / Porter plays an important role in providing exceptional guest service while maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming travel plaza. This position combines fuel desk cashier responsibilities with porter duties. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in creating a clean and positive environment for both guests and team members.
Requirements
- Provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
- Work effectively with the public and as part of a team.
- Take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, standing, walking, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning for extended periods.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to company procedures.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with team members.
- Demonstrate respect and professionalism when working with a diverse population.
- Maintain reliable attendance and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide prompt, helpful service.
- Provide suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience and promote store products.
- Follow all city, county, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit card, and other transactions.
- Operate the lottery/lotto terminal according to company procedures.
- Follow all company cash-handling, safety, and operating procedures.
- Stock merchandise, coolers, displays, and other areas throughout the store.
- Change fountain drink syrup boxes as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, pricing, and services.
- Clean and sanitize guest restrooms throughout the day.
- Clean and maintain guest shower facilities, ensuring they are sanitized, stocked, and guest-ready.
- Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and perform general housekeeping throughout the travel plaza.
- Clean windows, entrance doors, cooler doors, counters, shelving, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling containers inside the store and throughout the parking lot.
- Monitor and replenish restroom, shower, and cleaning supplies.
- Help maintain a clean and organized sales floor, fuel desk, and common areas.
- Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and deep-cleaning assignments.
- Promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to management.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
