About The Position

The Junior Mechanic supports the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Rolls-Royce M250 helicopter engines by assisting with the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of engine components. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with mechanical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn. You will be working under the direct supervision of experienced technicians while training and developing the essential skills required to perform maintenance and overhaul tasks in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. Prior hands-on mechanical experience is a plus but not required. This role offers a structured learning environment with opportunities for long-term career development in aviation maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or aviation maintenance coursework preferred).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions in a regulated maintenance environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written) in English.
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Able to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable working independently after training.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hands-on mechanical experience.
  • Some mechanical experience preferred (automotive, small engines, etc.).
  • Preferred (but not required) Experience in an aviation, automotive, or mechanical repair setting.
  • FAA A&P license or progress toward certification.
  • Exposure to fuel systems, hydraulics, or precision components.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of fuel control components and engine accessories.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting under supervision, identifying wear, damage, or out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Support the testing and calibration of fuel controls using approved shop equipment and manuals.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and inspection results in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following shop environmental and safety guidelines.
  • Follow technical manuals, service bulletins, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to learn advanced repair techniques and industry best practices.
  • Assist in handling incoming parts, preparing components for assembly, and verifying part numbers and traceability.
  • Participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and compliance.
  • Immediately report hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
  • Follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
  • Exercise sound judgment and maintain good communication with team members.
