About The Position

As a Fuel Components Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and validating high-quality marine fuel system components (including injectors, pumps, and filters). You will work in a hands-on, fast-paced, high-energy environment and pursue continual design excellence. You will be empowered to deliver creative fuel system hardware solutions for both current and future marine engines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant field)

Nice To Haves

Rigorous application of engineering fundamentals to liquid-handling systems (pumps, filtration, injectors, etc.), including first-principles calculations, design of experiments, and method development
Component-level bench test and engine-level dyno test experience, including test planning, instrumentation definition and installation, sensor calibration, and data acquisition (Catman, AVL Puma, etc.)
Aptitude in processing and reporting both analytical and empirical data to drive decisions (Concerto, MATLAB, Python, etc.)
Modeling and simulation skills (Creo, GT Suite, etc.)
Maintenance and fabrication skills (electrical, mechanical, & plumbing)
Familiarity with current fuel system and component standards (ABYC, USCG, SAE, etc.)

Responsibilities

Define critical fuel system parameters and specifications, design compatible components, collaborate with suppliers to deliver required timing and quality, and validate hardware performance
Proactively direct cross-functional communication and issue resolution (across Manufacturing, Supplier, Technician, System Testing, Purchasing, and Supplier Quality teams)
Apply FMEAs, DVPs, DFSS tools, and root cause analysis methods to failure investigation and correction
Develop component and system test plans; write and execute test requests
Collaborate with and direct CAD designers, simulation analysts, and test technicians
