About The Position
The Fuel Clerk provides efficient and courteous customer service at the fuel station, processes customer purchases, and handles transaction funds according to company policies. The role also maintains a clean and orderly work area and fuel pumps, stocks supplies, and follows applicable laws and procedures for tobacco sales, food stamps, coupons, check cashing, and tendering. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
- Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy.
- Receive and account for all funds taken for each transaction.
- Keep the workstation and area around the fuel station neat and clean.
- Know and follow state and local laws regarding cigarette and tobacco sales.
- Know and follow federal laws regarding food stamps.
- Follow coupon-handling procedures.
- Follow company check-cashing and tendering policies.
- Assist with light stocking duties, including candy, cigarettes, chips, and motor oil.
- Sweep and mop the work area.
- Clean the concrete area around the fuel station pumps daily using approved methods.
- Return misplaced items to their proper location.
- Collect trash as needed.
- Keep paper towels and windshield wiper fluid stocked at the pumps.
- Keep pumps clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
