About The Position

This is a Fuel Team leadership position within the Northeast Business Unit, providing internal and external guidance for product, market, and supply levels. The role serves as a liaison for all fuel-related activities, including branded and unbranded supply relationships and contracts. The Fuel Category Manager develops and administers fuel plans, product and retail pricing strategies, competitor assignments/reviews, and program tests. They participate in fuel contract (RFP) reviews, acting as a Business Unit liaison with Global support teams. This role also oversees all fuel-related performance, working with BU Facilities teams and external vendors to ensure optimal UpTime on all fueling positions. The position requires meeting profit targets by analyzing market conditions, margins, sales volumes, and competitive activity, and working with the Fuel Pricing Analyst to set retail pricing strategies and execution. The Fuel Category Manager prepares special reports, develops and manages all fuel strategies (site, market, product, brand, and division), including supply and carrier relationships and Circle K fuel and major brand marketing programs. They establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, carriers, and terminal/pipelines to achieve best-in-class contracts, negotiate fuel contracts, and coordinate fuels objectives with other department initiatives. Support is provided to store operations teams as a liaison to maintenance to ensure peak UpTime targets are achieved, and to the total BU Fuel Support Team with on-call coverage, including rotating weekend and holiday support. The role involves maintaining and controlling the Fuels Department budget and recommending capital improvements to maximize fuel contribution to store profitability. Additionally, the Fuel Category Manager develops and implements initiatives related to payment systems, including fleet card sales and administration, and 3rd party POS platforms. Requirements

  • Two (2) years petroleum industry experience required including management responsibility.
  • Strong managerial and leadership competencies required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with knowledge to develop and use other software tools.
  • Limited travel requiring occasional overnight stays.

  • Support store operations team as a liaison to maintenance to ensure peak UpTime targets are achieved.
  • Provide on-call coverage for the BU Fuel Support Team to ensure store support needs are met.
  • Maintain and control Fuels Department budget.
  • Recommend capital improvements to maximize fuel contribution to store’s profitability.
  • Develop and implement initiatives related to payment systems, including fleet card sales and administration, and 3rd party POS platforms.
