About The Position
Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is a leading healthcare services provider. River Point Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is an 84-bed treatment facility in Jacksonville, FL, specializing in the treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults, and seniors. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) delivers nursing care to adults, children, and adolescent patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves utilizing technical nursing skills, understanding psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, serving as a member of the treatment team, acting as a medication nurse, and maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing School
- Current Florida license
- One year nursing experience
Nice To Haves
- Psychiatric and/or addictions nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care to adults, children and adolescent patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Utilizes technical nursing skills in providing care to designated patients.
- Incorporates a basic understanding of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
- Serves as an active member of the treatment team.
- Acts as a medication nurse.
- Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients.
