Western State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), is seeking a full-time Food Service Tech II Cook. This role is responsible for accurately following recipes to produce consistent, appetizing, and visually appealing meal products for patient service. The cook must adhere to Virginia Department of Health regulations, complete assigned tasks efficiently, read and follow recipe directions, and practice proper food handling techniques. This includes maintaining safe food temperatures, documenting them on HACCP log sheets, and properly chilling cooked items. The position also involves washing, rinsing, and sanitizing equipment and work surfaces, storing cleaning materials, and assisting with tray assembly and delivery as needed.
