About The Position

As a FSQA Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role is for the 2nd shift in Carthage, Texas. Tyson Foods is looking for individuals who want to continue to grow in a new role internally and encourage them to apply. This position is classified as Management Level: Class 46.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to work in wet environment.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently.
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
  • Internal team members must have less than 7 attendance points at the time of bid and no write ups of any kind within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
