About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role is for the B-Shift at the Goodlettsville Case Ready Plant. We are looking for individuals who want to continue to grow in a new role internally. Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
  • 6 attendance points or any suspension on record for the last 12 months are internal disqualifiers.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
