About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role involves performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately, and taking corrective action when necessary. You will be responsible for alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management. Additional assignments may be requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to work in wet environment.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently.
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs.

  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
  • Leading by example and motivating the hourly workforce.
  • Completing Tyson paperwork.
  • Working overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Obtaining Lock Out Tag Out certification.
