About The Position

The primary function of this position is to assist the QA Manager with ensuring the company has the highest product quality that is safe for human consumption. This role directly supervises QA technicians and coordinates their activities. The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the implementation of SQF Program protocols and standards, and works with the QA Manager to help maintain the HACCP program and all associated records, including the monitoring of CCPs. This position ensures all records and proper documents for SQF, HACCP, and all pre-requisite programs are properly organized and maintained. The role collaborates with the Lab Manager on scheduled testing, follows up on maintenance requests, and documents all needed sanitation requests. The FSQA Supervisor interacts with USDA on any NRs and inspector concerns, and is responsible for the internal pest control program, supplementing the outside pest control program. Additionally, this role coordinates internal audits (GMP, glass and brittle plastic) and assists the Lab Manager with sample analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science
  • 3+ years’ experience in a USDA RTE facility
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • HACCP certified
  • Ability to make decisions without guidance
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to read and comprehend regulations, correspondence, instructions, rules and regulations as well as fill out forms and write reports

Responsibilities

  • Assistant to and direct backup for QA Manager
  • Directly supervises QA technicians and coordinates their activities with assistance from QA Manager
  • Responsible for ensuring implementation of SQF Program protocols and standards
  • Works with QA Manager to help maintain HACCP program and all records associated with it, including the monitoring of the CCPs
  • Ensures all records and proper documents for SQF, HACCP and all pre-requisite programs are properly organized and maintained
  • Collaborates with Lab Manager on scheduled testing
  • Follows up on any maintenance requests that are generated
  • Documents all sanitation requests that are needed
  • Interacts with USDA on any NRs and any other concerns of the inspectors
  • Responsible for Internal pest control program supplementing the outside pest control program
  • Coordinates internal audits (GMP, glass and brittle plastic)
  • Assists Lab manager on any samples that need to be taken for analysis
