About The Position

This role involves performing routine checks on production lines, sanitation standards, HACCP checks, label auditing, and weight checks. The technician will also be responsible for completing and reviewing documentation, ensuring the proper execution of Jennie-O Turkey Store's HACCP and NTIS programs, and adhering to company policies and procedures. Additionally, the position provides technical support and training to the plant regarding USDA regulation compliance, process control program problem analysis, product performance reporting, GMPs, and food safety principles. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn to complete basic audits including HACCP monitoring and verification, SSOP preoperative and operative sanitation monitoring, weight control checks, and online quality audits.
  • Ability to work independently and with others with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time in a cool environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Good attendance is essential; prior attendance record will be considered.
  • Willingness to work towards becoming knowledgeable in product specifications, GMP policies, SSOP procedures, and HACCP programs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English and communicate with management.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine checks including monitoring of production lines, sanitation standards, HACCP checks, label auditing, and weight checks.
  • Complete and review documentation related to checks and monitoring.
  • Assure proper execution of the Jennie-O Turkey Store HACCP, NTIS programs, company policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to the plant in areas of USDA regulation compliance, process control program problem analysis investigation, product performance reporting, GMP's and food safety principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
