About The Position

The Fryer Operator is responsible for ensuring the fryer is supplied with the correct pellets and applying the specified seasoning percentages to the product. This role also involves maintaining a proper supply of product to packaging machines and adhering to safety and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fryer for the day, including installing screens, filling oil, and checking for problems.
  • Fill pellet hoppers.
  • Maintain proper oil temperature and dwell time.
  • Use the correct blend of pellets for Bulk Density.
  • Run necessary amounts of pellets through augers and into the fryer.
  • Season the proper amount of pork rinds.
  • Ensure all packaging machines are full of product as required.
  • Manage product overflow containers.
  • Check bulk density every hour.
  • Keep track of all pallets/boxes of pellets used and all bags of seasoning used for record keeping.
  • Scan items in E21.
  • Keep accurate records of E21.
  • Keep the floor cleaned up with a squeegee and perform other required cleaning.
  • Unload pellet shipments and maintain inventory counts.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Follow all Food Safety regulations.
  • Wear proper PPE, including hearing protection in all areas of the plant.
  • Follow all common employee safety practices.
