About The Position

The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Frozen Department, ensuring product availability, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and outstanding customer service. This position leads department associates, maintains product quality and food safety standards, and supports sales growth while controlling shrink and operating expenses. The Frozen Supervisor works closely with store leadership to maintain a well-stocked, organized, and customer-focused department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous grocery, frozen foods, retail, or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising principles.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in freezer and refrigerated environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver loaded carts, pallets, and stocking equipment safely.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily Frozen Department activities and workflow.
  • Ensure frozen cases, bunkers, and displays are fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor product quality, condition, and inventory levels throughout the department.
  • Execute merchandising plans, promotional programs, and seasonal displays.
  • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with product selection, product information, and special requests.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture among department associates.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to support effective replenishment.
  • Ensure proper product rotation using first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution.
  • Help minimize shrink, spoilage, damages, and out-of-stock conditions.
  • Maintain proper freezer temperatures and product integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
  • Monitor storage, handling, and stocking procedures to maintain product quality.
  • Support department readiness for inspections, audits, and operational reviews.
  • Supervise and support frozen department associates.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on department standards and procedures.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Provide feedback and support associate growth and development.
  • Support achievement of department sales and profitability goals.
  • Monitor labor productivity and department efficiency.
  • Assist in controlling shrink, waste, and operating expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, productivity, and overall department performance.
