Frozen Food Lead-Kodiak
About The Position
As a primary contact for Safeway customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This role involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to Frozen Food Clerks. The manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area, minimizing out-of-stock product, and writing frozen food orders. Daily tasks include checking orders for completeness, rotating product, removing expired stock, keeping cases stocked, cleaning the department area, and restocking items in the freezer for other departments. The role also includes receiving and stocking merchandise using pallet jacks, breaking down cardboard boxes for the bailer, checking and filling the ice machine, restocking end displays, and cleaning spills. In case of freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee must remove all items, clean the case, and restock product. The position may also require functioning as a cashier/checker during peak times.
Requirements
- Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
- Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
- Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
- Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
- Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
- Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
- Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
- Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
- Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts.
- Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
- Other duties as assigned.
