Requirements

  • Less than a High School Diploma and related construction experience

Responsibilities

  • Operates a rubber-tired, skid steer, or crawler type tractor with an attached scoop type bucket on front end to load materials from stockpiles, excavation, charging batch plants, loading and unloading trucks.
  • May be used with attachments in lieu of the bucket.
  • Starts engines, moves throttles, switches, and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines.
  • Signals truck drivers to position trucks to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
  • Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
  • May oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine.
  • Makes necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
