About The Position

The Web Presence and Platform team at Stripe is responsible for stripe.com and other sites that form the first impression of Stripe for many. This team is organized into two pillars: Presence, which focuses on creating industry-leading designs for Stripe’s public-facing surfaces to educate customers and drive adoption, and Platform, which builds the internal systems that power these surfaces, ensuring speed, stability, and ease of updates. The Expansion pod within this team specifically focuses on attracting new prospects and driving conversion through user journeys, interactive tools, and targeted global experiences. As a frontend engineer in the Expansion pod, you will reimagine user experience moments that contribute to acquisition journeys, build delightful interactive tools, and collaborate across design, engineering, and cross-functional teams to create new site capabilities. You will enable prospective clients to self-select into the right Stripe product lines, involve additional partners in the authoring process while maintaining high quality standards, and directly impact Stripe’s success by combining data-driven rigor with a commitment to craft.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience at a tech-forward, product-driven company
• Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Passion for engineering solutions focused around growth hacking & enablement

Nice To Haves

• A good understanding of the formal elements of design, not just limited to the web and including typography, layout, balance, and proportion
• Experience building highly complex interactive tools, including state management and data fetching
• Proficiency with React, with a focus on interactions, animation, performance, and polish
• Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing
