Responsibilities

  • Attend department meetings, taking minutes as requested by supervisor.
  • Coordinate and oversee orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Interview and make hiring decisions in conjunction with Access Services Manager. Provide feedback, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Including writing and conducting annual performance reviews for PAS personnel.
  • Ensure timecards are reviewed and approved in the time & attendance system.
  • Responsible for all Patient Access Specialist job functions, including being a subject matter expert as it relates to PAS functions for all specialties.
  • Be the contact person/resource for all Patient Access Specialist concerns.
  • Ensure Patient Access Specialist functions are being appropriately performed by staff, including monitoring and reviewing workflows and department goals.
  • Prepare staffing schedule, coordinate coverage for vacation and illnesses and provide coverage/support and notification as needed.
  • Assist with coverage for fellow supervisors as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure with busy provider schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
  • Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of the company business.
  • Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors.
  • Abide by company policies.
  • Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.
  • Oversee Patient Access Specialists within your team while acting as a working supervisor to monitor incoming phone calls, register and/or update patient information including address changes, insurance changes, and schedule patients as needed, and facilitating patient care and communication amongst provider offices.
