The Front Office Supervisor oversees the front desk clerks and operations, including checking guests in and out, reservations, and monitoring of the switchboard; while ensuring overall excellent guest service. This role involves assisting in the overall management of the unit’s operations, including planning and developing daily operations, forecasting and analyzing sales, labor, and profit; and ensuring compliance with established budget; and scheduling, supervising, and participating in the operational duties specific to the unit. The supervisor will also assist in recruiting, supervising, training, scheduling, disciplining, reviewing, and directing the front desk staff. A key part of the role is responding to guest inquiries and resolving customer complaints, ensuring all cash and cash equivalents are accounted for and balanced at the beginning and end of each work shift. Maintaining a safe facility environment, including standards for maintenance and upkeep of unit’s equipment, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene is also essential. The supervisor must notify the Unit Manager of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues and represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times, maintaining and enhancing the company’s image when interacting with clients, guests, associates, and vendors.
