About The Position

Front/Office Medical Assistant – Harris Ortho and Sports Medicine is a full-time position with a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus with a 1-year commitment. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8a-5p. Harris Regional Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This role is within a busy, well-established Orthopedic and Sports Medicine practice with an expanding Provider list, treating patients from toddlers up for acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. The practice seeks someone with patient care experience and a positive attitude, striving for a family-like atmosphere with supportive staff who care about employees individually while maintaining high-quality professionalism and expertise.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Trained to run front office including check-in/check-out, scheduling, calls, etc.
  • Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
