About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Front Office Manager for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA. The position's primary goal is to oversee all front office operations to ensure guest satisfaction, profitability, control costs, and maintain quality standards.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations, and backup systems.
  • Above average mathematical comprehension to understand and interpret numbers as they apply to hotel operations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Thorough organization and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to develop subordinates to enhance advancement in the hotel and company.
  • Ability to analyze complex statistical data and make judgments accordingly.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to use a hand-held computer device.
  • College education and a minimum of three years of hospitality experience.
  • Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate.

  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience as Assistant and/or Director of Front Office Operations.
  • CPR certification and/or First Aid training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all standards of guest service.
  • Manages and motivates all front office personnel with daily supervision including staffing, training, discipline, scheduling, and performance monitoring to ensure adherence to service and productivity standards.
  • Receives and resolves all departmental guest complaints in a timely manner within company guidelines.
  • Checks and controls room reservations, front office systems, supplies inventory, scheduling, forecasting, and department budget to maximize revenue.
  • Compiles and prepares financial reports, including rate and availability calendar.
  • Communicates with guests and employees verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction.
  • Advises and instructs staff in details of work.
  • Organizes, conducts, and/or attends meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
  • Implements and monitors all corporate marketing programs (e.g., HHONORS).
  • Organizes and conducts pre-shift and monthly departmental meetings.
  • Attends all manager staff, division, and other hotel meetings as necessary.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty in rotation with Guest Service Managers.
  • Performs room inspections, which require bending, stooping, reaching overhead, and moving throughout guest floors.
  • Assists in check-in/check-out of guests or any related guest service activity.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as special requests from guests.
