About The Position

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Front Office Clinic Assistant (Float) to support our health centers across the Portland Metro area. Bilingual Spanish preferred. As a Float Front Office Clinic Assistant, you'll bring flexibility, professionalism, and excellent customer service to multiple health centers—helping teams stay fully staffed while creating a welcoming experience for patients across our region. We provide training, mentorship, and a supportive environment where you can grow while making a meaningful impact. In this role, you'll support patients and clinic teams across multiple health centers, helping ensure every visit begins with a positive experience. You'll play an important role in ensuring patients receive consistent, high-quality service while supporting multiple clinics throughout the Portland Metro area.

Requirements

  • Must reside within the Portland Metro area
  • Must be able to travel to all PPCW health centers as scheduled
  • Must have reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and comfort learning new systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments and workflows
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a variety of teams
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office or front desk setting
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR)
  • Familiarity with insurance verification or healthcare scheduling
  • Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in multiple clinical settings

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients, check them in, and prepare visit paperwork
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient questions
  • Enter and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Verify insurance coverage and discuss payment or funding options
  • Collect payments and complete daily balancing tasks
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to keep appointments running smoothly
  • Adapt quickly to different clinic teams, workflows, and patient populations
