About The Position

Cohen's Bagel Company in Madison, CT is a busy, community-focused bagel shop known for fresh, hand-rolled bagels, delicious spreads, and made-to-order sandwiches. We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Front of House (FOH) Team Member to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you’ll play an essential role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and engaged.

Requirements

Strong communication and people skills with a friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
Comfortable standing for extended periods and able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Eligible to work in the United States and will need to complete the I-9 form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in customer service, café, deli, or food service preferred but not required — we are happy to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Greet customers with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.
Take customer orders in person and over the phone, accurately entering them into the POS system.
Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments efficiently and responsibly.
Package bagels, sandwiches, and catering orders neatly and correctly.
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages.
Restock the bagel case, cream cheese tubs, condiments, napkins, utensils, and other FOH supplies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house area, including counters, condiment stations, dining area, and beverage stations.
Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up displays, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed quickly and accurately.
Provide support for catering orders and special events when needed.
Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
