About The Position

This position offers Nisqually Tribal members the opportunity to gain the skills needed for the Front-of-House Supervisor position. It is an apprenticeship in the supervision of the F&B Department, providing a hands-on learning experience in various roles including Bus Person, Fine Dining Host, Cashier, Barista, Lead Cashier, Beverage Server, Bar Back, Bartender, Wait Staff, and Front-of-House Supervisor. The objective is to provide career positions to Nisqually Tribal Members, offering guidance, growth opportunities, and skills for career advancement and lifelong work skills. The mission is to enhance the continued economic viability and quality of life for the Nisqually Indian Tribe, Team Members, and neighboring communities, with a vision of creating incredible experiences.

Requirements

  • Nisqually Tribal Member.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Permit.
  • Ability to obtain a Class 12 or Class 13 Mixologist Permit.
  • Willingness to study toward and earn a GED or high school diploma.
  • Ability to learn all aspects of the F&B Department, including those of an administrative assistant.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and accept guidance and corrective actions.
  • Ability to learn and use basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work within time constraints and stay on task.
  • Ability to learn communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
  • Positive guest service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be 21 years of age to participate in the Beverage portion of the apprenticeship.
  • Ability to obtain a Class II Gaming License (A Class III Gaming License to participate in the FOH Supervisor training only).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Front of House staff and administrative assistant in all aspects of food operations, including the essential functions of the Bus Person, Fine Dining Host, Cashier, Barista, Lead Cashier, Beverage Server, Bar Back, Bartender, Wait Staff, Administrative Assistant, and Front of House Supervisor.
  • Learn front-of-house operations and the administrative aspects of the food department.
  • Comply with all quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with the cleanliness and safety of all food service, beverage, and gift shop areas.
  • Stock and organize all F&B and gift shop products.
  • Assist with receiving and storing all food service, beverage, and gift shop deliveries.
  • Maintain sanitary standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
