About The Position

Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated waste and recycling collections company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region. WCS is currently looking to add a full-time Front Load Driver to our fast paced, energetic, and passionate service team. We are searching for a Class 3 Driver (air endorsement required). This position will work in our Coquitlam facility and run around Greater Vancouver.

Requirements

  • Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including pushing and pulling heavy bins.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and evolving group dynamic.
  • Demonstrated capability to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere while working in demanding conditions.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervisions at times with the added expectation to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Class 1 License is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the waste management industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate front load trucks to collect and transport waste materials from designated locations.
  • Navigate designated routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and ensuring timely waste collection.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers, addressing any concerns or inquiries related to waste collection.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during waste collection, such as blocked routes, damaged bins, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure efficient operations and a positive work environment.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, and team members to report progress, issues, and any deviations from the schedule.
  • Ability to perform very physically demanding job (pushing and pulling hundreds of pound bins 60-80 times/daily).
  • Perform daily Pre & Post trip inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
