About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for a Front-End Web Developer to work with a highly collaborative team to develop our public-facing website. As a developer, you will play an integral role in the specification, design, build, test, and support of our website for SEL. We work on a variety of projects to support our customers as well as Sales and Marketing at SEL.

Requirements

B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
3+ years of web development experience
Knowledge and experience in web supporting technologies and web development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
Ability to learn quickly and assume new responsibilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Enjoy solving complex problems by providing simple solutions

Nice To Haves

Web development experience with React, TypeScript, Next.js
Experience with user experience (UX) design and wire framing tools (Figma)
Experience with agile development principles and processes
Experience with revision control systems (Git)
Experience with automated testing (Jest, Playwright)
General understanding of cybersecurity, user authentication and authorization

Responsibilities

Participate in the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of website components and features.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Recommend and implement processes following industry best practices for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software.
Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and systems experts to solve complex problems.
Collaborate with designers to extend their designs to be dynamic; build and extend components in our custom design system.
Contribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence.
