About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is actively hiring a Front-end Web Developer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens with a TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph. This role involves designing, developing, and enhancing diverse software systems, including analytics, algorithms, large-scale data processing, real-time systems, and business management tools. Responsibilities include reviewing, testing, and documenting software components, contributing to system design, analyzing user requirements, debugging existing software, and providing recommendations for process improvements. The developer will also design and code new software or modify existing software, integrate software into new or modified systems, develop data queries, and write or review software documentation. Additionally, the role may involve serving as a team lead, designing complex database interfaces, developing algorithms, assisting with test procedures, and coordinating software system installation.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience as a Web Developer
  • Software Integration (new and existing systems)
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and defects correction.
  • Creation and editing of software system documentation
  • JavaScript and Front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
  • Developing applications interfacing with REST-based APIs/services in Apache Tomcat/Java or NodeJS.
  • U.S. citizens with a TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance diverse software systems, including analytics, algorithms, large-scale data processing, real-time systems, and business management tools.
  • Review, test, and document software components to ensure they meet design requirements while resolving issues and applying appropriate development methodologies.
  • Contribute to system design by analyzing hardware/software trade-offs, promoting software reuse, integrating COTS/GOTS solutions, and performing requirement analyses from system-level specifications to individual components.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any project.
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigate problem areas.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.
  • Perform quality control on team products.
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any project.
  • Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Coordinate software system installation.
