Remote Front-End Web Designer
About The Position
Joydrive is changing the way people buy or lease their cars by offering a 100% digital solution for purchasing new and used cars from dealerships, including trade-ins, financing, and home delivery. We are seeking a front-end designer with strong interaction design experience to join our growing agile technology team. This role involves building a platform that revolutionizes car buying. Designers at Joydrive create visually appealing designs, engage in product design and user experience, and implement their designs using HTML and CSS (SASS). Responsibilities include creating user stories, task flows, and use cases, establishing best practices for the platform, and solving complex problems with thoughtful design to create beautiful and effective user experiences. The role also involves leading user testing, sketching, wireframing, and sitemapping.
Requirements
- Experience working with an agile development process and a design sprint approach
- Experience working on a distributed team (or experience working remotely)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Desire and passion to change a decades-old industry
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Asks questions and challenges decisions they disagree with thorough & thoughtful discourse
- HTML/CSS experience is a must
Nice To Haves
- experience with Javascript is a plus
Responsibilities
- Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3/SASS
- Understanding and experience using git and GitHub as part of your workflow
- User Experience Design
- Creating Mock-ups (low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes)
- Usability Best Practices and User-Centered Design
- Interaction Design (Adobe CC, Sketch, Invision, etc., and basic Graphic Design)
- Feature Development and Product Management / User Advocacy
- Ability to design simple, usable experiences that scale across a complex suite of multiple platforms (web, smartphone, tablet)
