About The Position

Operate front-end machines such as coil handling machines, cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and baler. This role involves understanding and complying with position-related safety SOPs and work instructions, especially for lockout/tagout, chemical handling, machine guarding, housekeeping, BRC and personal protective equipment (PPE). The technician will rebuild, repair, or overhaul front-end can manufacturing equipment and other equipment as needed. This includes modifying, removing, installing, adjusting, synchronizing, or repairing equipment or parts, which could involve large presses and dies, deep drawing and trimming equipment, transfer equipment, and various electrical and mechanical control devices. The role requires making proper diagnosis, adjustment/repair, and setup of assigned equipment. Technicians will read and interpret computer information system reports and work from verbal or written instructions to determine the need for and plan repairs, overhauls, setups, and operation of the specified equipment. Using a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools, they will perform required inspections before, during, and after rebuilding, repair, or overhaul. They will determine and make the most efficient setup and operate machine tools, considering material type, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool speeds and feeds. A thorough knowledge of machines and mechanical principles involved in repair and overhaul work, including timing, synchronizing, and aligning mechanical action, is essential. The technician will set up and test can manufacturing and other equipment under power, tracing and correcting mechanical difficulties. They will operate, clear jams, lubricate, clean, and add necessary direct and indirect materials to equipment to keep it operational. The role also includes performing any reasonable duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Good Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of US measurement.
  • Ability to use calipers and micrometers.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Troubleshoot machinery when out of specification.
  • Ability to organize own work.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Team Player.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a thorough knowledge of machines and mechanical principles involved in the repair and overhaul work, including timing, synchronizing and aligning the mechanical action so that under power the assemblies are mechanically coordinated.
  • Set up and test can manufacturing and other equipment under power testing for mechanical difficulties tracing to their source and correcting.
  • Operate, clear jams, lubricate, clean and add as required necessary direct and indirect materials to equipment to keep operational.
  • Perform any reasonable duties assigned by the management staff, corresponding with this role.
