Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader provides daily direction to associates within a store department, covering merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service. This role supports the Group Sales Manager (GSM) / Department Manager (DM) in achieving departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals. Key responsibilities include preparing task lists, executing merchandising directives, maintaining plan-o-grams, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. The Team Leader assists the GSM / DM and Human Resources Manager with staffing, interviewing, training coordination, performance appraisal input, weekly scheduling, and motivating associates to foster positive customer relations and a productive team environment. They are also responsible for resolving customer and associate issues, maintaining high customer service standards, becoming a product expert through ongoing training and demos, and assisting with special events, pricing integrity, inventory accuracy, and proper display of advertised items. The position involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and promoting customer programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
