The Front End Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining efficient and courteous customer service at all times, ensuring no more than two customers are waiting in line. This role involves supervising and monitoring all functions of the front end, including cashiers, courtesy clerks, fuel associates, and the computer room operator. The manager is accountable for the security of the safe, change funds, and all financial transactions, including check cashing and approving checks. They must also enforce company policies regarding coupon handling, supply usage, and maintaining a clean and organized front end environment. Additionally, the Front End Manager must ensure adherence to company dress code policies and all state and local laws, as well as company procedures, related to the sale of age-restricted products like alcoholic beverages and tobacco. They are also responsible for managing various payment methods, including WIC, EWIC, Charge Accounts, Debit/Credit/EFS/EBT/Gift Cards, and Tax Exempt accounts. Inventory management for the customer service area and candy racks, proper handling of two-party and payroll checks, and overseeing banking and armored car services are also key duties. The role includes managing money transfers, money orders, postage stamps, coin machines, hunting and fishing licenses, rentals, promotional tickets, and lottery tickets. Ensuring associates take scheduled breaks and lunches, verifying bank deposits, answering phone calls, and enforcing child labor laws are also part of the responsibilities. Finally, the manager must be knowledgeable about and enforce anti-money laundering (AML) policies and money service business (MSB) compliance, and perform other duties as assigned.
