About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Front-End Loader Operator to move products, equipment, and materials to and from industrial work areas. Under general supervision, the operator uses a front-end loader and forklift to load trucks, move and fill hoppers, and safely lift, move, and position loads. The role includes operating equipment according to written, verbal, or signal instructions; inspecting and cleaning equipment; reporting malfunctions and safety concerns; and completing job tickets and other required paperwork. Operators follow Austin Industrial and plant safety procedures and may also operate a mobile sweeper, wash down areas around columns and hoppers, or shovel in hard-to-reach areas. This is a full-time, permanent position in Loudon, Tennessee, requiring night-shift work on a rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts on and three days off. The role is in industrial and construction environments and may involve exposure to weather, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, vibration, moving equipment, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment. The position may involve working at heights, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces, and may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. No per diem or relocation funding is provided.

Requirements

At least 3 years of front-end loader operating experience.
Forklift and heavy equipment certifications.
Pass a drug screen and background check as a condition of employment.
Be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the employer cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
Wear required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
Be able to perform the physical duties of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and using hands and fingers; positions may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Be able to work at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces as required.
Be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment, solve problems, maintain attention to detail, manage stress, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Operate a front-end loader and forklift under general supervision to load trucks and move and fill hoppers.
Control the speed and direction of loader and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
Ensure loads are safely loaded before lifting; lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to the plant contact and Austin Industrial supervision.
Clean and inspect the front-end loader daily for safety issues and determine whether parts are malfunctioning.
Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and other necessary paperwork.
Follow Austin Industrial and plant safety procedures and guidelines.
As required, operate a mobile sweeper, wash down areas around columns and hoppers, and shovel in hard-to-reach areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
