About The Position

The Front End Loader/Driver operates a front-end loader in the raw clay storage area and/or operates raw clay crushing units before the dryer. The role maintains proper clay quantity and quality, follows safety requirements, and supports daily equipment maintenance and clean work areas. The employee also communicates operating conditions and changes to relief or next-shift personnel and the team leader, participates in improvement activities, develops proficiency in other processing-team functions, and provides backup support to other positions and departments as needed.

Requirements

Meet the assessment requirements.
Have experience operating a front-end loader safely.
Have the knowledge required to monitor equipment performance.
Understand all safety requirements and other communications.

Responsibilities

Operate the loader to maintain proper clay quantity and quality in the clay shed.
Operate crushers.
Understand internal customer needs and modify processes to meet expectations.
Complete pre-shift safety and general inspections of the loader, crusher, and work area.
Inform relief or next-shift personnel and the team leader of abnormal conditions, defects, machine changes, procedure or condition changes, and current operating conditions and requirements.
Follow all safety rules, regulations, and precautions.
Assist with daily routine equipment maintenance.
Keep work areas clean and free of clutter.
Participate in improvement activities.
Acquire further training and proficiency in other processing-team job functions.
Provide backup support for other processing-team positions and other departments as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
